ABOUT INNOVATION STATION KITS

Innovation Station Kits empower educators, parents, and afterschool professionals to teach Invention Education through a fun, hands-on, and engaging approach. Designed to spark creativity and critical thinking, these kits challenge children to tackle real-world problems without relying on technology — making them perfect for classrooms, afterschool programs, libraries, and home learning environments.

Each kit follows a simple, structured, and progressive four-stage process that guides students and educators through the invention journey:

    1. Understand Problems – Identify and explore real-world challenges.
    2. Create Solutions – Brainstorm and develop innovative, practical ideas.
    3. Let’s Invent – Build and prototype concepts using hands-on materials.
    4. Pitch Your Product – Practice presenting and sharing their invention.

What’s Inside Every Kit:

    • A relatable story featuring a character facing a real-world problem.
    • Guided activities and worksheets to walk students through the invention process.
    • Supervisor resources to support educators and facilitators.
    • Crafting supplies to encourage hands-on creation and imaginative prototyping.

Whether in the classroom or beyond, Innovation Station Kits inspire young minds to think like inventors, solve meaningful problems, and bring their ideas to life.

WHY INVENTION EDUCATION

Invention education and hands-on learning are essential for students in grades K–6 because they nurture the foundational skills children need to thrive both in and out of the classroom. At this age, students are naturally curious, imaginative, and eager to explore the world around them. Invention education taps into that curiosity by encouraging students to identify real-world problems and develop creative, meaningful solutions. It fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and resilience — skills that are vital for navigating future challenges in school, work, and everyday life.

Hands-on learning allows children to actively engage with concepts, making lessons more memorable, meaningful, and fun. Through building, testing, and presenting their ideas, students develop problem-solving abilities and confidence in their own creativity. This approach moves beyond memorizing facts, helping young learners understand how knowledge connects to real-life situations. By introducing invention education in the K–6 years, we empower students to see themselves as innovators and changemakers, laying the groundwork for a lifelong love of learning and discovery.
